When a worker opts for the extended parental leave option under the EE and begins his leave before the signing of the collective agreement, he receives an allowance of 93% of his weekly salary for all weeks during which he takes parental leave and up to 37 weeks for the egg. If the worker remains on extended parental leave, the allowance expires after a maximum of 37 weeks. However, the egg will continue until the worker returns to work or until the ei benefit stops depleting. Standard parental leave after IE is 35 weeks to be taken within 52 weeks.
